Cambridge Soroptimists Celebrate our 10th Annual International Women's Day Event!

Calling all women and allies! Get ready to celebrate the incredible achievements of women from around the world at this year's International Women's Day Celebration. This event is all about honoring the strength, resilience, and power of women everywhere.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 2, 2024, because this is an event you won't want to miss. The festivities kick off at 12:30 PM at the LA Franks parking lot (104 Water Street North). Show your support during a short walk through town, join us indoors at the UW Architecture School, and get ready for an afternoon filled with inspiration, empowerment, and fun!

At the 10th Annual International Women's Day Celebration, you can expect an amazing presentation from our keynote speaker, award-winning Multi-sport Endurance Athlete Debbie Bulten... a woman who has made her mark in a world dominated by men. She has been 'on top of the world' in each of the 7 continents around the globe, conquering the highest mountains on each continent!

Join us at the 10th Annual International Women's Day Celebration as we come together to celebrate the achievements of women, foster connections, and inspire positive change. Together, we can create a world where women's voices are heard and their contributions are valued!

Soroptimist International of Cambridge is excited to be back in-person at the beautiful Hamilton Family Theatre Cambridge. Doors open at 6:00 pm with a silent auction and the screening begins at 7:00 pm.

We’re proud to amplify the inspiring short films by this year’s selection of women and gender nonconforming directors. Our featured filmmakers are from all walks of life and range from poets to conservationists, activists, and educators. These stories remind us that when we come together, we all move forward.

Canada's Got Talent finalist and Juno Award winner Stacey Kay will be performing on March 4 at the  2023 IWD Walk & Celebration, hosted by Soroptimist International of Cambridge. Stacey will be kicking off the indoor program of this FREE community event at UW Architecture School in Cambridge.

You won't want to miss Stacey's high-energy performance, so be sure to register soon, as auditorium space  is limited.

Enjoy these great films while supporting Soroptimist International of Cambridge, a local volunteer organization with a global reach. One that assists women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. Proceeds will benefit the service projects of Soroptimist International of Cambridge, along with Chicken & Egg Pictures, which supports female nonfiction filmmakers.

Top 100 Black Women to Watch in Canada Honoree

As the Keynote Speaker for their 2022 International Women’s Day Celebration

Challenging the status quo of racial inequity and social justice.

 Event organizers are thrilled to welcome award-winning equity and inclusion consultant, educator, and 

community builder Colleen James as the keynote speaker for this year’s IWD celebration.  

We can work together to #BreakTheBias in our communities, our workplaces, our schools, colleges and universities… on International Women's Day and beyond.
